I promised a shot of the war memorial in Stanley and here it is:
I found this immensely moving. In 1982 I was living and working near Portsmouth. This is a huge naval town and was a focal point for much of what happened back home. I am sure I remember going to welcome the aircraft carrier back. I guess it would have been HMS Hermes.
Secondly, some very congenial fellow travellers have already posted an album of trip shots to Flickr and many are far better than my modest efforts and with a very different feel. I encourage you to see the work of Miriam & Joseph Tenne at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sierra_trip_aug06/sets/72157632542065726/
On with the processing!
PS: this might also amuse….
I wrote about the Falklands earlier this month re Kirchner’s endless bellicosity. I’ll be watching the referendum with interest. Great photo of that memorial and not one I have seen before.
I’ll go back and read the post. Thanks for such kind comments.
You’re welcome. Superb photos. The Kirchner post was when she was whingeing at the beginning of the year. I’ve written other less moderate posts on my other Clouds blog 😀
That’s a good pic of you and Shirley. Love y’alls ear muffs. 🙂 Will check out the web address that you posted.
