It is, so I am told, 2014. A new year. Frankly I don’t have any resolutions but I am toying with the idea of doing something BAD. Bird-a-Day. I shall probably lapse by tomorrow but I started the new year at Long Valley and my BAD offering for today is Siberian Rubythroat. And here he is:
Oh, and a happy new year to both my readers.
Great start to a nice project, Andrew. I probably should have set some kind of goal for the year too…ah well, no goals, no resolutions. I’m a success. 🙂
I hope you are able to stay the course, but it’s quite a challenge.
Steve, the chances of me keeping going for 365 days are on a par with Sarah Palin becoming president.
Ah, so then it is a lock. Unfortunately, there are still a gaggle of U.S. voters who think she would be the perfect leader. 🙄
The gaggle of horny old men
If I was one of those guys, that voice would quell the fires within.
“I’m bad, I’m bad…” (sorry couldn’t help it)
Wonderful images of this bird Andrew. Whether you lapse in your resolution or not, I’m looking forward to your blog this year–whether I am able to comment properly or not, I always enjoy reading.
I wish you the very best in 2014!
Thanks Greg. I always enjoy reading your blog too and I look forward to your reflections as we go through the year. Happy 2014.
The Rubythroat is a spectacular way to welcome the New Year, Andrew. Beautiful, brilliant, inspiring!
Thank you Marylin. That makes me feel good.
A Bird A Day, keeps the doctor away ;-). Really wonderful photo’s, I like them all. Nice and sharp and of course the bird itself is great.
Have a wonderful 2014!
Regards,
Marianne
Thank you Marianne. I have only just seen this as it went to my spam folder for some reason. A very birdy 2014 to you, too.
Beautiful photos. Your BAD idea is not a bad idea. Wishing good things for you and Ms Ha
in 2014.
Thank you Yvonne. We wish you also a very good 2014 and may all your computer problems be resolved!
That’s a passel of birds, Andrew…. 365 and counting: A wealth to choose from :–) And, as Just Rod says, “… I always like to see the habitat.” From over here in the Ozark highlands, all the best to you and yours — and I so look forward to working with you in the Gregorian Year of 2014. –Eb
Thank you, Eb. I have read your latest missive over at http://www.corndancer.com/crow/crow_jrnl/crowjrnl-dl-a.html. You have prime habitat of course and I hope you and the family live in perfect harmony with it in the coming year.
BAD is good, I reckon. Happy New Year Andrew – I look forward to your daily offering… 🙂
I like your BAD intentions. Thanks for the happy new year greeting – who is the other one?
Beautiful pictures, for some reason the second one amongst the dried grasses really appeals. I guess I always like to see the habitat. Good luck with keeping up with your own challenge.
BAD is toddy’s GOOD. I hope 2014 is filled with good, BAD days.
Now is that good, or BAD? I am confused. No change there…… Habitat you shall have, Rod, as often as possible. Thank you.
A beautiful resolution and amazing photos. Actually, for once on 1st Jan, it is good time to set intentions as it’s the New Moon in Capricorn, very powerful. Man-made time has passed and I heard that Big Sister instructed at the Thames fireworks – “at the third stroke, it will be… 2014!” Happy day! Drenched here.
Oh Dawn, I have seen the awful weather on TV. We need some rain for the garden but not too much. I always like Jan 1st to be cold and frosty, ideal for long walks. I hope 2014 is good to you.
These are some stunning images of this rubythroat! Seriously amazing! The color and detail in the images is just incredible! Look forward to seeing much more of your work!
Thank you very much and I hope I won’t disappoint!
BAD is a great start to the New Year. All the very best for 2014 Andrew!
………stunning as allways. Happy New Year my only suggestion is have a few in reserve. Looking forward to seeing the BAD boy photographs of 2014.
Thanks Bill. I will try to have a few in reserve. I’ll see how it goes.
….and what a beauty it is. Happy New Year, Andrew and I look forward to seeing your BAD side
Excellent
Herzlichen Dank!
Back on the net, don’t know for how long.
Happy New Year, Andrew.
