Apart from changing the theme today I have been reading about SEO. Now it is back to the interesting side of blogging, seeking out images to share.
I try to find themes and of course I have not really had a ‘lock’ day yet. I like the photos but I am not sure they will much broader appeal. We shall see, perhaps. Instead today here is a bit of a mish-mash selection, photos that don’t really fit a theme but I was happy to find in the candy jar. I can not guarantee that sherbet fountains will be hidden in the 3d Lucky Bag but perhaps a 1/2p chew or three.

Mateus Rosé, who’d have thought it….well I never. Dapper gent reminds me just a teensy, tiny, weeny bit of my old man……and I’ve got to love Barbie because I’ve made so much work about her in the past. Very happy about the ‘Like’ button being re-instated, thank you 😉
I think you should post about Barbie, Lottie. This is a side to your past you have kept hidden (rightly so) and needs to be exorcised. Confessions time.
Barbie has been laid to rest but I used to make huge gloss paintings of her. I also made little scenarios up using Barbie as the model and then photographed them – they were quite funny and very rude. Sorry to disappoint but my next post is about donkeys!!

I have no idea about the building, but I am worried by the leaning pinnacles – or is it me? Love the bright guys in the first shot.
I think the pinnacles may lean a little. It may possibly be the perspective from using a very wide angle lens. It is of course easy to check if you have a bottle of (shock horror) Mateus Rosé. Just look at the label!
Not unless I go back thirsty (good typo – thirty) years.

The building–whatever or wherever it is–is stunning. Each time I look at it I see something I missed before, like the reclining statue in the water. But this is a set of pictures that I would not be able to say “This is my favorite.” Each one is uniquely wonderful, and I love them all…for different reasons.
Well nobody had a guess at why the building is famous so I shall reveal. It is the Mateus Palace and appears on the wine label for the infamous Mateus Rosé wine. Oddly it isn’t really a palace and they don’t grow the wine there!
Well, your new theme looks very neat and tidy. I like it. However, I’m not sure it would matter what your theme looked like when you are able to post such fab photos – just use which ever one you think compliments them the best. 🙂

I like all the images but the door knocker with the upside down dog takes the prize for me. Wish I had one like that. 🙂 About the building- I’m not sure if it is a monastery, cathedral, or a palace. There are several buildings that are considered to be very important in the cultural history of Portugal.
The dog is splendid, isn’t it Yvonne. I doubt if they are still made nowadays but perhaps they should be.

I have mixed thoughts about travelling to a beautiful place and then reading a book. I’m all in favour of reading at most opportunities but it does seem a bit of a waste of being somewhere special. Granted books often take you to special places but I’ve never been short of everyday ordinary places to read.
I always take a book or two on holiday and often they go untouched. I am currently 2/3 of the way through Our Mutual Friend and its getting a bit of a grind!

I’m finding it difficult because I’ve read it in small bites. Lots of minor characters make it more difficult to keep track. It’s the penalty for always having multiple books on the go.

Well, so much for my pano suggestion….as this bird screen is very nice and fits well with your love of birds. The images do look nice with this theme too.
At first, I thought that was David Crosby . 🙂 Nice to see a hippie with thinning long white hair…maybe I should go that route. :O
He does have a Crosby air about him and definitely not Bing 🙂
