Apologies but the travelogue is on hold. My MacBook died yesterday (5 months old) and then I discovered a horrible mark on the Fuji sensor that makes photography impossible until I can remove it safely. The mark looks like an oil splash. It won’t blow off.

Worst timing possible but I can shoot with the X100s.

Normal service etc.

  1. What a pest, I’d so hoped that all your computer/techy problems had been left at home with the dratted Miele 😦 I hope that the hitches are short-lived and that full service will be resumed shortly. Madrid should have enough to keep you entertained in the meantime. A trip to see Guernica will put everything into perspective. Gutted that we can’t join you for the game, especially since ‘houseguest dog’ howled all night outside our bedroom and left the HUGEST yule-log ever by the kitchen. That’ll teach me to be a good neighbour!

    • In the Prado now. I have done deep analysis of most of the artworks and concluded that the thing that makes a good painter is if he includes dogs. All the true Masters include a Lulu or a Colin Snout. I am still trying to spot Yule logs. Rubens was not bad. We will see Bosch next and lo

      • Velazquez, Goya and Picasso are the ones to major on at the Prado. I totally agree about the inclusion of canines into paintings. Frankly, if they can’t paint a dog, they aren’t worth bothering with. Just had to dispose of THE most enormous yule log from ‘houseguest’ dog – we now have a blocked loo……I don’t think I can take anymore of this, I’m getting in the car and coming up to visit you.

  2. Oh,what a plight! Like an angler without bait. Did I tell you I had a friend who got terribly sea-sick during a fishing trip. He ended up vomitting in his friend’s bait bucket. An unforgivable rat act.

  3. I’m sorry but I have been laughing as I read the comments. Some of your followers are real comics. Their wit and sarcasm is brimming over.

Frankly, I’d be mad as a wet hen if I had oil on a lens. Your problem could not happen at a worse time.

I'd be delighted to hear what you think
