A great photo. Agitation in chess is very common. I had a friend who beat an ex- grandmaster once in Amsterdam when I was working in a bank. The man was dead within six months. Reply
Very nice~ I like that you chose black and white. Just look at the character that shows in his wonderful face 🙂 Reply
Steve, he was winning. His opponent was rather agitated. I could not get into a position to photograph him. It would have been a fun contrast. Reply
Yeah, that would have been a geat juxtaposition. But it is apparent that the potential victor was ready for his closeup, Mr. deHardacre.
What lovely, lovely portrait. I see humour, intelligence and modesty.

Grandmasters can be very vindictive, it seems.

I generally prefer B&W for portraits, Melissa. I think I inherited it from my father.
This is great. Such a nice and happy smile. Excellent portrait.
Thanks Yvonne.
Great work Andrew, love the smile and the hair I would of love to see the others persons face,
Thanks Sheldon. I might try again tomorrow.
Love this!
A great catch Andrew
And from the smile, I’d assume he just won!
He appears to be a kind gentleman, Andrew. Very nice portrait.
