SKY update

Well SKY has started the redemption process. The Executive support team called me today. We had a constructive discussion and they will now investigate. To be continued.

The house purchase completed and we have the keys. Tomorrow work starts in earnest. And here  is the bank breaker πŸ˜ƒ

  1. Encouraging news on SKY…and Wow…that’s quite the abode! Looks like a place I’d love to get my hands on and make my own. Have fun emptying the wallet and filling the camera! Can’t wait to watch the progress on both counts.

  2. A man of influence! It is good to see that SKY can crawl when necessary.

What a find. I love the windows and the colour of the bricks. Date? Is it listed and will this affect any alterations? Sorry, that all sounds rather nosy. We have not moved house since we landed here in 1978, so I have to get my new house kicks vicariously.

    • Its c 1980, Hilary. Not listed of course. 4,100 sq ft and 1 acre of land. Rather tired (like me) but in estate agent speak, bags of potential.

  3. Congrats Andrew,it’s always exciting yo start a new chapter in life,my all your hopes and dreams come true, good luck, keep your chin up,I hope to only hear good things in the future

  4. Great house Andrew. You will be going into every room and relish the potential of new colours, decorating, furnishing and making it your own.
Mrs Ha will be busy no end, and what about Lulu? Running around, sniffing it’s wild life.

  5. I’m sorry to hear one needs to have a personal friend on the board in order to get service from B SKY B, Andrew — not a good look for the company! Mind you, I suspect this is a not uncommon situation today — call centres are really the pits 😦

On a more cheerful note, your house looks absolutely lovely — I just know you and Mrs Ha will be very happy there, despite the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

  6. First thing that I noticed are the tall mature trees. The grounds will support some understory plantings that will aid birds that nest nearer the ground. You will have so much fun working on adding things that encourage wildlife.

Second thing I noted is the solarium. Gee that is one of the nicest things about your new home.

Last but not least your home is immense. I really think you need to get a search and rescue dog for you and Mrs. Ha will likely to get lost in there. But, of course there is itty bitty Lulu who does not let Mrs. Ha out of her sight. I reckon she could find you as well. πŸ™‚

    • Yvonne, my feeling is that Mrs Ha bought the house, I bought the garden. There is lots of wildlife I’m sure. The solarium – called an orangery here – floods us with sunlight. But so much work to do. Perhaps a St Bernard to help us?

      • My comment ran away. All that work will keep you busy but it will surely add interest to your life and keep you maybe more active than you want to be. That is either a good thing or a bad thing. I’m just not sure which. πŸ™‚

    • I had a 2nd arborist around today. He was impressed with the trees. 2 will come out. Some crown lifting to be done, trimming / lopping etc. but we have a Red Oak, several Cherry Trees and most are mature . It should be great. I found a pond today hidden in the bushes. Lots of work.

      • You’re doing more for your trees than most folks. Pruning alone will make your trees so happy. I love my cherry. Very fragrant and love it’s structure/form. Score on the pond find! If I ever buy another house, I’d wish to have a spring fed pond on it.
        So exciting! πŸ˜†

  7. Wonderful and congratulations! All the best for the renovations/updates. And the safe arrival of your freight with your camera gear! πŸ“·

  8. I am quite envious of this estate of yours. Not so much all the rooms to manage (so much work even without renovating) but it is quite handsome and the land and orangery are real pluses. I think you did quite alright for yourself, Andrew.

Mrs. Ha seems quite happy. What could be better? πŸ™‚

I'd be delighted to hear what you think
