Letter from Hong Kong

Well we missed the fledging. We had a frantic morning trying to get everything done before we left. Lulu is at Aunt Nell’s Best Exotic Marigold Dogotel in Hampshire’s answer to Jaipur, King’s Worthy. The national car park or M25 was gridlocked feeding back onto the M3. Sadly we had enough time for some duty free shopping.

The BA flight was awful. We splashed out on business class seats. What a rip off. So narrow, no space to put anything and very uncomfortable. Food was very mediocre. We were very glad to get off.

So now we are in our apartment in HK. A week or so of escape from the builders. But we will be back, hoping the woodies will have a second brood.

  1. That was quick but I’m sure the trip didn’t feel quick as you have written that you were cramped or crammed in sort of like sardines? A week away will recharge your batteries, hopefully.

  2. Green Woodpeckers, eh? And I thought I was doing well with a box of Blue Tits and another which as had two broods of Tree Sparrows – I managed to miss the fledging of each too. (doh?)
Little hybridy type cameras and the compact super zoom cousins are very useful for fitting into the corner of carry-on bags when the full SP kit has to be left at home!
When we had some work done to the house, the missus was nearly crying by the time the builders had finished, dust everywhere, despite the best efforts of everyone involved. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get out.

  3. Loved the movie…it would be even better with a Princess in it.

So you are proof that one can go home again. I think I said that before about the move to GB. 🙂

  4. I think I was almost gridlocked in that very same queue but noticed in the nick of time and followed my nose through the lanes to Leatherhead.
Shame about the fledge … you’ll just have to set up a Woody-cam.

  5. In spite of the flight and the traffic, this is a win-win getaway, Andrew. You have some R&R from the construction; Lulu gets Aunt Nell’s Best Exotic Marigold Dogotel! Enjoy it all! 😉

I'd be delighted to hear what you think
